CORE VALUES:
These values define how I conduct myself not only in the workplace, but in my life.
Accountability: I am a big believer in doing what you say you will, when you said you’d do it. It is the foundation to trust, which is the foundation of all working relationships. What can I say – I’m an eldest daughter through and through.
Autonomy: I want the flexibility to pursue my own ideas and paths towards shared goals – and I think organizations are at their best when the smart people they hire have room (and permission!) to exercise some creativity. Autonomy is at the heart of innovation.
Fun: At the end of the day, life is too short to spend doing something we don’t enjoy. I genuinely find my job really fun – and I think when work is aligned to values and skills, most people feel the same way! It is fun to build something you care about with smart, interesting people you like – this could be the reality of work every day.
Thinking of Extending an Invite to the Party?
I started my career as a recruiter, so trust me when I say I understand the importance and challenge of making the right hire – and I’ve come to understand that it’s really about the two way fit. Luckily, at this point – I have a pretty good grasp on what makes me a great match and strong value add for an organization… and what elements might lead to a mismatch.
WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Experience not only building people programs ground up, but scaling and iterating those programs as the organization grows and evolves. My background is almost exclusively in fast growing start-up and scale-up organization, where my approach to HR programs and processes has been highly influenced by agile methodology and product management principals.
- The understanding that talent management does not have a perfect end state we are chasing – the act of questioning, adjusting, and scaling your team’s efforts is a muscle that should be flexed and strengthened on an ongoing basis. The business evolves and so does our approach. It’s important not to be overly precious about your work. I’m flexible, and it’s difficult to ruffle my feathers.
- A curiosity based approach that has enabled me to build trust based relationships with leaders, identifying friction points in employee experience. An HR leader once told me to get my work from the business, not my boss – and that’s proven to be some of the best advice of my career.
- Comfortability working with C Suite Execs and front line employees. With a start up background, I am comfortable working as a strategist, a project manager, a worker bee, or a project leader – often on the same project in the same day.
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR NEXT:
- A vibrant, dynamic organization that aligns with my core values and embraces a high performance, people focused approach. Organizational buy in on employee development is a must.
- The opportunity to closely partner with business leaders to create people programs and processes to enable individuals and empower managers, and create high performing teams
- A position that allows me to work one on one with managers to enhance their skills, thereby improving employee experience, satisfaction, and retention
- A team, boss, and organization that supports hands-on experimentation and iteration in developing evolving solutions for an evolving business
DON’T HIRE ME IF:
- Growth plans for your organization are slow
- You have an organization full of perfect managers who never need support
- You often utilize the phrase “We’ve always done it this way” and would like to keep doing so
- You’re looking for someone to act as the fun police. Not my brand of HR.
